The NX™ CAM Wire EDM Advanced add-on software provides comprehensive capabilities for programming wire electrical discharge machines (EDM), including cutting 2- and 4-axis geometry configurations. It offers benefits such as programming any standard wire EDM equipment, generating optimised wire EDM operations, accelerating programming using feature-based automation, and ensuring efficient and safe wire EDM machining. The features include direct access to machine tool technology databases, 2- and 4-axis machining using solids, surfaces, or curves, collar machining, pocketing completely or partially, feature-based machining, and attended and unattended machining strategies. 

The NX CAM  Hole making provides various hole-making functions such as spot drill, drill, ream bore and tap. You can use deep drill, peck drill and special boring cycles. User-defined cycles provide any needed hole-making capability. Efficient traverses minimise lifts while accounting for all part and fixture geometry. Special multi-axis filtering automatically switches MCS for nonparallel hole selections. NX CAM provides several special milling processes for milling holes and bosses. With these cutting options, you can mill holes into solid material or clean up holes and bosses in near-net shape components. The threads can be milled internally or externally. 

NX™  CAM Machining Setup Instruction unleashes the power of NX Open in combination with the NX CAM application to create setup instructions for the shopfloor and documentation easily. The application is free to use for any NX CAM customer. The current release is a preliminary version signed with the NX2306 series.  The setup sheet includes all the information about the machining process. Its consistent and categorised design facilitates preserving the required information in one place, which is perfectly readable even in a workshop environment. 

Feature-based machining (FBM) in NX™ CAM is a technology that automates recognising machinable features on a part model and generating the corresponding tool paths for machining. It significantly reduces programming time by automatically identifying features such as holes, pockets, and slots and then applying predefined machining strategies to these features.
